The DW Training Center (DWFZ) was founded 40 years ago as an instrument of German media development cooperation. Today, the Centre offers a Wide range of training for radio and television specialists. So far, more than 20,000journa1ists, managers and technicians from stations in developing countries and Eastern Europe have participated in DWFZ courses. The participants are important multipliers and, at the same time, at the forefront of progress in their countries. DWFZ is financed primarily by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
Intercultural media training is part of the DW—AKADEMIE, too. It is geared towards German executives who are preparing for a foreign assignment. Internationally experienced trainers convey practical knowledge, geopolitical and media competence. Intercultural media training consists of three units which can be booked individually: intercultural competence, economic, social and political contexts in the respective regions and the improvement of participants’ microphone and camera presence.
