The English-Language Service of Radio Korea celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. We broadcast a one-hour program ten times a day, along with a 50lminute service nine times each day via Seoul and through relay stations in Sackville, Canada and Skelton, Great Britain.
To keep pace with the rapidly changing aspects of contemporary Korean society, Radio Korea's English Service covers the news from an objective point of view and offers commentary with an in-depth analysis of the current issues.
Radio Korea's English Service has an expanded team. Our five Korean English staff members include Chae Hong Pyo, Kim Pyung-Ryul,Koog Soon-Yup, Kim Hyuk-Dong and Hong Seung-Joo; our foreign staff member is Mitch Lazar from America.
We're all working diligently to serve your needs, producing high-quality programs, and eagerly tending your waves of feedback!
Good listening!

Hello Radio Korea listeners and fans!
Radio Korea celebrates 40 years of service this year. Our first braodcast went on the air August 15th, 1955. Born from the ashes of the Korean War, we began only with an English Service called the "Voice of Free Korea,” later changed to Radio Korea in 1973.
Now, four decades later, we broadcast in 12 different languages including Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. Our programs total 150 broadcasting hours daily.
Radio Korea has continued to expand its coverage areas by signing mutual transmitting relay contracts with leading broadcasters worldwide. In 1990, Radio Korea made its first contract with Radio Canada International through the use of the Sackville Transmitting Station in North America and the Kimje Transmitting Station in Korea. Radio Korea just signed another similar agreement with the British Broadcasting Corporation's World Service in April. Today, our programs are also transmitted through the Skelton Transmitting Station in Great Britain.
Thanks to both relays, Radio Korea is receiving a rush of letters and reception reports. All complement improved reception conditions around the globe, especially in the Central-European region.
We promise to forge ahead with our diligent efforts to bring you the highest quality programing. Plus, we want to cater to your needs and interests, while keeping you abreast of all the latest news and information here in Korea. As always, your constant reception reports and diverse opinions serve as a wealth of encouragement to our staff and aid in the further growth of Radio Korea. So keep the letters coming. We appreciate your dedication.
Thank you, our listening family and friends, for our work together is the key to a better and brighter future for Radio Korea.

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem!
Behold, thy King cometh unto thee; He is the righteous Saviour, and He shall speak peace unto the heathen.
