ABOUT RADIO PRAGUE
Time and the tide wait for no one... Yes, ten years will have passed this year since the Velvet Revolution put an end to four decades of communist rule. For 10 years now the Czech Republic (and Czechoslovakia before that) has been a democratic country In March 1999, it also became a full NATO member.
The past decade has seen radical changes in Czech society as a whole. The media are no longer a tool of state propaganda. Radio Prague, as part of the public-service Czech Radio, has fully embraced the change and has built itself a new identity Today we broadcast in five languages (Czech, English, French, German and Spanish) and strive to fulfill, as best as we can, the mission of keeping our international audience in touch with developments in the Czech Republic. To make this possible we are constanthr at work to improve the quality of our signal. This year Radio Prague began relaying its Czech, English and Spanish programmes via Radio Miami international. This relay exports our shortwave signal to the previoushr inaccessible northern parts of South America and the Midwest of the United States. We can also be heard via satellite in Czech, English, German and Spanish courtesy of the World Radio Network. ln addition, all our programmes can be heard on the Internet at our address < www.radio.cz >. Every year Radio Prague issues new OSL cards and if you would like more material from and about the station, all you have to do is to write or take part in one of our competitions. We look forward to your reception reports and
wish you perfect reception!

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem!
Behold, thy King cometh unto thee; He is the righteous Saviour, and He shall speak peace unto the heathen.
